GRETEL developed the concept and animation for the book trailer ‘The Lipstick’ by Laura Dockrill, illustrated by Maria Karipidou for Walker Books UK.
The trailer is the prelude to the actual story of the book. The calm before the colourful chaos! ‘They say they always know you’re up to something when it gets quiet in the house…’ We follow the cat as she patrols the house. All the family members are busy. But then, in this moment of quiet, the cat discovers the little boy finding the lipstick. – GRETEL brought these scenes to life with lovingly illustrated characters and scenes by illustrator Maria Karipidou.
The voice-over for the trailer was recorded by the wonderful author Laura herself – a personal touch that gives the story an extra dose of authenticity and vibrancy.

‘Man sagt, sie wissen immer, dass du etwas vorhast, wenn es im Haus still wird…’ Der Trailer ist der Auftakt vor der eigentlichen Geschichte des Buches – die Ruhe vor dem kunterbunten Chaos! Das Voice-Over für den Trailer wurde von der wundervollen Autorin Laura selbst eingesprochen – eine persönliche Note, die der Geschichte eine Extraportion Authentizität und Lebendigkeit verleiht.
Es war GRETEL ein großes Vergnügen die liebevoll illustrierten Charaktere und Szenen von Illustratorin Maria Karipidou zum Leben zu erwecken.
